This includes the vast majority of today's WAP-enabled phones.
Instead of requiring the phone to process Web pages, it uses a remote server to pre-process the page before sending it to the phone. This makes Opera Mini™ perfect for phones with very low resources, or low bandwidth connections.
Opera Mini™ offers the same speed and usability as the renowned Opera mobile browser, and uses Opera's Small Screen Rendering™ technology to provide access to the Web. It has all the features expected of a browser, and more, such as bookmarks, browsing history, and ability to split large pages into smaller sections for faster browsing.

嗯，可能是最好的手机 WAP 浏览器，曾经只能在挪威等欧洲国家使用的 Opera Mini 浏览器已经正式面向全球发布了！它很小（约 100 KB），本质上只是个客户端接收程序，当通过它访问某 URL 时，它会把 URL 等信息发送到 Opera 的服务器上，再有这个服务器去获取网页内容，加以加工压缩后发送回程序上。几乎刻意运行在任何支持 J2ME 的手机上，我的索爱 K300c 也在列。
用它访问我的 Blog，效果一般，应该说不如智能手机的 IE 效果好，但是也远远好过我手机中自带的 WAP 浏览器了，至少中文能正常显示～
可惜，GPRS 太贵。
How Opera Mini™ works
Opera Mini™ is a Java-based (J2ME) browser solution where the full Opera browser is running on a remotely located Opera Mini™ server rather than on the handset itself. The handset only needs to run a small (50-100 KB) Java client to access the full Web. When a user requests a Web page, it is fetched by the Opera Mini™ server, reformatted with Opera’s Small-Screen Rendering™ technology, compressed 70-80% and sent to the handset.
