在古希腊，火象征着创世纪、复兴和光明，自6月4日起从上届奥运主办城市-澳洲雪梨出发、经过全球五大洲(约七万八千公里行程)及3600名选手接力，抵于8/13抵达本届主办城市--希腊雅典的奥运圣火，本届圣火特别之处是它是第一次巡行全球五大洲以反映奥运会徽的五个色环意义包括首次经过非洲和拉丁美洲)，估计全球约两亿六千万人将有机会亲睹奥运圣火经过自己的城市！

　　而传递圣火的2004雅典奥运圣火主题曲--“Pass The Flame薪火相传”将收录于EMI唱片发行的《手牵手-2004年雅典奥运官方指定专辑/Unity-The Official ATHENS 2004 Olympic Games Album》！这首由电影‘女狼俱乐部’金奖配乐制作大师崔佛宏恩（Trevor Horn）操刀，希腊天王歌手-依尼斯高席拉斯（Yinnis）、土耳其性感偶像-塔肯（Tarkan）与阿拉伯第一女伶-卡夏（Katia）三人共谱的澎湃主题曲“薪火相传”不仅率先为8/13开幕的雅典奥运揭开澎湃的音乐序曲，奥运向来所倡导的‘世界和平、民族融合’大家要相爱的理念这回也不例外运用在奥运指定音乐中。

　　包括史汀、艾薇儿、乔丝史东、天命真女、黑眼豆豆、梅西葛蕾、魔比…等四大洲、15国巨星即将献声流行版《手牵手/Unity》和古典版《心连心/Harmony》两张奥运指定合辑！
